Why did my Pump or Liquid Vent stop moving fluid?
A line stops when its level conditions fail; mixed fluids can also make an unfiltered Vent choose the wrong liquid.
Quick answer
Check the route in order: Pump, Pipes, then Liquid Vent. Fluid must remain at or above the Pump's level, while destination fluid must stay below the Vent's level. Lava cannot use this route, and a Vent cannot be filtered, so keep different fluids on separate lines.
Steps
- Confirm the route is Pump to Pipes to Liquid Vent and the material is not lava.
- Check that source fluid still reaches at least the Pump's level.
- Check that the destination fluid surface remains below the Vent's level.
- Split mixed fluids into separate lines because the Vent uses the fluid closest to it.
Requirements / limits
- The official guide documents operating levels, not a universal Pump-to-Vent ratio.
- Liquid Vents cannot be filtered.
- Update #2 does not change Pumps, Vents or fluid movement.
Common mistakes
- Letting the source fall below the Pump or the destination rise to the Vent.
- Trying to move lava through the normal route.
- Combining fluids and expecting the Vent to select one.
